“SimpliPhi offers a 10 year warranty on their lithium batteries, however its reassuring to know that at end of life they will be accepted by PF Metals under their battery recycling program.”

DPA Solar director, Richard Barker

Many Australians have installed solar power for two reasons: to help the environment and to save money.  The sun provides a tremendous resource for generating clean and sustainable electricity without toxic pollution or global warming emissions.

However, the increasing number of solar panel installations around Australia has resulted in an increased demand for solar battery storage to store the energy produced. But what happens to the batteries after use?

The limited life of energy storage batteries raises the issue of battery disposal, and how it can be managed without denigrating the environmental benefits of installing solar in the first place.

The good news is PF Metals have confirmed that it will accept SimpliPhi Lithium Batteries under their battery recycling program…. and at no cost to the battery owner.

Recovery of the resources contained within the battery is undertaken at the PF Metals site in Victoria so they can account for all material in and out. This means there is now no need for Lithium batteries to leave the country or go to landfill.

“This is yet another reason to choose SimpliPhi,” says DPA Solar director, Richard Barker. “Until recently Lithium batteries could not be recycled in Australia. They had to be sent offshore. So we are extremely pleased to announce that customers can select SimpliPhi Power batteries with confidence, knowing that they can be safely recycled at the end of life.” says Richard Barker.

LFP (Lithium Ferrous Phosphate) is the safest, most environmentally benign lithium chemistry. SimpliPhi LFP batteries are compact in size with incredible energy and power density.  Flexibility is a key strength of the SimpliPHI battery system, and families can upgrade capacity as family size and load demands change.

In this article learn how the cost of swapping from traditional lead acid batteries to SimpliPHI battery packs, whilst marginally higher, provide some immediate benefits plus future proofs your customers power requirements.
